E se a mettere sotto scacco il drago è il drago stesso? Scivola leggera questa storia, scivolano via le parole come se una volta pronunciate volassero altrove senza farsi più vedere né leggere. La verità è che questa storia è dipinta di impermanenza. Nessuno è abituato a fare i conti con essa perché nessuno ne ha mai carpito l'essenza, di questa impermanenza. Lasciate che sia la storia a leggere voi stessi, lasciate che sia lei ad accarezzare e scorticare la vostra pelle, solo cosi ne riuscirete a catturare il senso. Se questo senso riuscirete a coglierlo. Come bruciava. Nessuno avrebbe mai potuto immaginare come bruciava la gola di quel drago. Di solito i draghi vengono percepiti come possenti, anime imperiture destinate a far tremare e non a tremare loro stessi, di solito le cose sono cosi. Ma non era questo il caso: quel drago soffriva enormemente per il bruciore proveniente dalle sue fauci, dalla sua gola. Sputava fiamme ardenti e roventi ma poi era destinato a soffrirne, silenziosamente, al riparo della propria caverna scavata con il tempo e con le cose che il tempo porta con sé. Scacco al re. E' questa la frase che si pronuncia quando, durante una partita a scacchi, si mette in pericolo il re e l'avversario deve pensare ad una mossa o ad una strategia efficace per mettere in salvo quella pedina, per poter continuare la sua partita. Essere sotto scacco è pericoloso. Quel drago era finito sotto scacco, ma non a causa di un avversario bensì per colpa sua, per colpa del suo lanciare fiamme. Può un drago mettere sotto scacco se stesso? A quanto pare sì. Quel giorno, al riparo della sua grotta, quel drago stava osservando minuziosamente la propria pelle. Le zampe erano rugose come le cortecce di antichi alberi, colorate di tante tonalità di grigio. Una profonda cicatrice mal rimarginata sprofondava tra le dita, segno di un inciampo. Un banale inciampo della vita. Ricordava quel giorno in cui stava zampettando verso la foce di un fiume, per dissetarsi. Fu un attimo banale, un rovo incise profondamente la sua carne tanto da farla sanguinare in modo copioso e poi impetuoso. Ci volle tempo a rimarginare quella ferita, ma il tempo si sa alla fine lenisce, guarisce e cicatrizza sempre tutto. Quel drago tornò con la mente al tempo presente, tornò ad osservare se stesso e la propria pelle e si chiese se ne era valsa la pena... Vivere, lanciare fiamme e poi soffrire per quelle fiamme che lasciavano la gola bruciata. Vivere, lanciare fiamme. Vivere. Amara, com'è amara la vita per certi draghi. Essere sotto scacco da se stessi fa male. Ma a ben pensarci non si tratta di uno "scacco matto", in questo caso si tratta solo di un comune "scacco al re” e quindi ci si può ancora salvare. Most of these songs were written during the global lockdown due to the pandemic.
